What protects you
- Fomo doesn't hold your funds. Your tokens stay in your own wallet. Fomo's help center says no one at Fomo can move, hold or access them (Fomo: how fomo keeps your crypto secure).
- Your key is split. The wallet's private key is split into several shares, so no single party, Fomo included, can rebuild it. It's put together only for a moment, inside secure hardware, to sign your trade.
- You can leave with your wallet. You can export your private key from Settings at any time and use the wallet elsewhere.
- Biometric lock. Turn on Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint in Settings, Security. Then it's needed to withdraw or export your key.
- Token labels. A blue checkmark means Fomo's team reviewed the token (no guarantee of price or safety). Unreviewed tokens show a "be cautious" popup. Tokens with signs of fraud, such as a contract that blocks selling or pulled liquidity, get a warning label (Fomo: how tokens are labeled).
- Fomo doesn't keep your ID. For bank withdrawals, Fomo's partner Spritz checks your ID; Fomo says it doesn't collect or store your verification documents (Fomo: identity verification).
What doesn't protect you
- No regulator. Fomo's Terms say it isn't licensed by any regulator, and that it isn't an exchange or broker (sections 6 and 18).
- No reversals. A confirmed blockchain trade or transfer is permanent. Fomo can't undo it, and there's no refund if a token loses value (Fomo: can I reverse a trade).
- Your login guards your wallet. You sign in with an Apple ID or Google account, and that login secures your wallet. If someone takes it over, your funds are at risk, and Fomo's Terms say it isn't liable (sections 4 and 6).
- Some tokens can't be sold. Fomo's help center lists the reasons: the liquidity was pulled, the creator blocked sales, or your position is below the minimum (2 USDC on most networks, 5 USDC on Ethereum) (Fomo: why can't I buy or sell this token).
- Fomo can change the rules. Fees, features and the referral program can change at any time (sections 4, 7 and 8). The fee shown before you confirm is the one you pay.
- Perps are high risk. Leveraged positions can lose more than your margin and can be closed automatically. Perps aren't available to U.S. persons (section 10; Fomo perps fees).
What users say
On Trustpilot, Fomo has a TrustScore of 2.0 ("Poor") from 11 reviews. Fomo hasn't claimed the profile or invited reviews, so it's a small sample (checked 18 October 2026). Most complaints we read are about tokens that crashed or couldn't be sold. Some are about fees or slow support.
On fees: Fomo shows its fee before you confirm each trade. Network fees on chains other than Solana and price movement during the trade come on top (Terms, section 7). Full breakdown: Fomo fees.
How to stay safe on Fomo
- Type fomo.family yourself and check the spelling. Scam sites use lookalike addresses.
- Turn on two-factor login for the Apple ID or Google account you use with Fomo, and turn on the biometric lock.
- Never share your private key. Fomo says it will never ask for it, or for your password or login details, by email, DM or any other channel.
- Before you buy a token, check its label, its liquidity and how much of it a few wallets hold.
- Ignore tokens that appear in your wallet without a purchase. Fomo says these are almost always scam tokens that can't be sold (Fomo: protecting yourself from scams).
- Don't connect your wallet to unknown sites or sign "claim" requests. A signature can let another address move your tokens later.
- Start small, and only trade money you can afford to lose.
Is the DEAL referral code legit?
Yes. Like every Fomo code, DEAL is a Fomo username, and Fomo's referral program gives it the standard 10% off: 0.45% per trade instead of 0.50%. You can check it: after your first trade, the fee line shows 0.45%. DEAL also returns 12.5% of your fees in USDC, sent by the code owner inside the Fomo app. Proof of payouts. A code can only be added when you sign up: how to use a code.
